History

South Brisbane Sailing Club (SBSC) is a family based river sailing club. Established in 1903 the club is a part of Brisbane’s sporting history. A full history is available from the book published to celebrate the Club's centenary, or an abridged version is on the Club's website. Located in Orleigh Park, West End SBSC’s clubhouse was built in 1956. It was built to last because despite ‘going under’ in both the 1974 and 2011 floods the building survived (albeit requiring significant repairs) on both occasions.
