History

Skerries Sailing Club (SSC) is a vibrant sailing and boating club set in scenic island-studded waters off the coast of north County Dublin. Dinghy and keelboat racing for adults and juniors takes place up to three times weekly in season. A wide variety of classes are represented. Cruising is also encouraged and many visiting craft head for an enjoyable stopover at Skerries. Pilotage, mooring and other guides are available in our Cruising section. SSC prides itself on its friendly atmosphere. Newcomers to sailing are warmly welcomed. A small fleet of adult and junior dinghies is available to newcomers at nominal rates to help them improve their sailing. Friendly coaching is also available. See Joining SSC. This year SSC celebrates the 75th anniversary of its foundation in 1933. The highlight of the year will be a gala regatta. In addition we are hosting three regional, national and international events for Optimists, Mirrors and Wayfarers. Our clubhouse offers magnificent views and is also available for private parties.
