Ladysmith Yacht Club was formed in 1985. Our Club activities include recreational cruises to interesting venues in the Gulf Islands, sailboat races (both within the Club and interclub) as well as an enjoyable social program. We have great membership meetings, usually with guest speakers, videos or other activities of interest. Social events include our popular, monthly BBQ/pot-luck evenings, along with special events for Robbie Burns, Saint Patricks day, etc. Our major social function each year is the annual Commodore's Ball which, along with the usual fun and good humour, is also the occasion for the presentation of the annual trophies. We also have a fleet of modern sailing dinghys to provide both competition and training in the art of sailing. The training is by provided by professional Canadian Yachting Association sailing instructors. The Club has another advantage - we have reciprocal moorage privileges with many other yacht clubs throughout the Gulf Islands, lower mainland and Washington State.
