History

History

CBYC was founded in 1978 by a small group of boaters who approached the City of Scarborough with the idea at starting a non-profit, self help club that would cater to both power and sail boats. This self help theme has been kept throughout the development of the club, from the building and maintaining the docks to the landscaping and even the design of the clubhouse. For our members, fun and friendship reign supreme with a full calendar of social events. On a more serious note our Cruising and Racing Committees organize various seminars on boating. Our racing activities are enthusiastically supported with a number of skippers achieving remarkable success in various regattas. We do not forget the cruisers at heart ... each season we organize a number of interesting, fun filled weekend cruises to various locations on Lake Ontario. With one of the most impressive clubhouses on the Lake, first class docking facilities, beautiful landscaping, extensive winter boat storage and free parking, CBYC offers its members true value for their investment. The annual fee for an Active Senior member includes all of the following facilities and services.
