History

Chartered by a special Act of the Connecticut Assembly in 1882, the New Haven Yacht Club is one of the oldest chartered yacht clubs in the nation. We are a co-operative of sailors and sailing-oriented folks. We are an informal group dedicated to helping each other spend as much time on the water as possible. Only 5 minutes from Interstate 95, we are located in the Morris Cove section of New Haven, Connecticut, on the east side of the New Haven Harbor. Members sail off mooring in the harbor and dry sail from the club dock. In a matter of minutes, you can be sailing in the Long Island Sound.
